Bobrisky, a Nigerian individual who underwent gender reassignment surgery to transition from male to female, has made headlines for winning the ‘best-dressed female’ award at the ‘Beast of Two Worlds’ movie premiere in Lagos.
She surpassed well-known Nollywood stars like Toyin Abraham, Mercy Aigbe, and Sola Sobowale to claim the prize of 1 million Naira.
Born as Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju but currently identifying as Bobrisky, publicly identifies as a woman after undergoing surgeries to change her appearance.
Despite Nigerian laws that prohibit individuals from identifying as having two genders or being part of the LGBTQ community, Bobrisky has openly embraced her identity.
Bobrisky gained fame for her feminine clothing choices and has continued to defy societal norms.
Last year, she revealed her body transformation after undergoing surgery to enhance her buttocks, further solidifying her public persona.
At the premiere of the film “Ajanaku: Beast of the Worlds,” Bobrisky’s appearance in black attire showcased her confidence and style, earning her recognition as the best-dressed female attendee.
Her success in the face of societal challenges highlights the evolving perceptions of gender and identity in Nigerian society.
