NIGHT SKIN/ FACE CARE ROUTINE.

Written by on July 12, 2021

After a long day of sweating and collecting all sorts of germs on your skin, what you want to do is get home, take off the dirty clothes and have a warm or cold shower right?

Note; The face is the first thing that people notice when they look at you.

I asked my colleague what she uses to ensure that her skin is well maintained, “ I don’t put that much effort as long as I have used my body wash and scrubbed the dirt off” she said. I know it’s not easy to figure out the skincare routine that’s going to work best for you.

During the night, your skin absorbs the nutrients in your products better than during the daytime, your night skincare routine is mega important. And while there isn’t a perfect routine, there is that one formal routine everyone should have in place. Many will say, drink lots of water, get plenty of sleep, exercise and wash your face with this and that.

I did thorough research into finding out the best way to carefully take care of your skin. Below are some important steps;

Wipe off the make-up – Using wet wipes only will not take off the make-up, start your nighttime routine with a gentle makeup remover.
• Moisturize your skin- You will want to moisturize both day and night, after taking a shower and just before going to bed avoid lotions with heavy scents and make sure you find a moisturizer gentle enough for everyday use.
• Avoid touching your face- This reminds me of when covid-19 struck everyone avoided touching their face because the virus is mostly contracted through the mouth and eyes. When you avoid touching your face it reduces the breakouts and spreading of bacteria.
• Avoid direct heat exposure- One of the most sensitive places has to be the face, when you’re taking a hot shower and you happen to bring your face close to the hot water, you get burn bruises. The sun too gives you sunburns, try and use a sunscreen that suits your skin and doesn’t leave your face looking all white.
• Don’t use too many products- Find that one or two products that you use for your skincare routine. Using too many products might harm the skin more than do good.
• Clean your makeup brushes regularly- wash concealer and foundation brushes once a week to avoid infection and clogged pores.

A good skincare routine plays a significant role in promoting healthy skin, despite the hormonal changes that you go through.
