Omanyala gets silver at the Boris Hanzekovic Memorial.

On Sunday night, Ferdinand Omanyala finished second in the men’s 100m at the final World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting, the Boris Hanzekovic Memorial in Zagreb.
The Commonwealth Games champion clocked a time of 10.02 seconds, crossing the finish line behind American Lindsey Courtney, who won the race in 9.97 seconds.
Romell Glave of the United Kingdom finished third in 10.11 seconds, while Canada’s Jerome Blake came in fourth.
Omanyala had a full season, starting from the indoor tour before kicking off his outdoor campaign at the Kip Keino Classic.
He also raced at the World Indoor Championships, finishing fourth in the 60m. After a fifth-place finish at the Kip Keino Classic, Omanyala participated in the World Athletics Relays, where Team Kenya finished fourth in the men’s 4x100m relay, missing out on a slot to the Paris Olympic Games.
Omanyala bounced back with podium finishes at the Prefontaine Classic and the Diamond League Meeting in Eugene, finishing second behind Christian Coleman.
He later finished third at the Racers Grand Prix behind Oblique Seville and Noah Lyles.
At the Kenyan Olympic trials, Omanyala won the men’s 100m final at the Nyayo National Stadium with the second-fastest time of his career, 9.79 seconds, ahead of Mark Otieno.
Before the Olympic Games, Omanyala won the FBK Games in Hengelo.
At the Olympic Games, Omanyala was eliminated from the men’s 100m final after finishing eighth in the semifinal.
He then won the Int. JOSKO Laufmeeting. Omanyala also finished second at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia and seventh at the Diamond League Meeting in Rome.
