One-year-old Ghanaian boy crowned the youngest painter by Guinness.

The mother of Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah, officially recognized as the world’s youngest male painter by Guinness World Records (GWR), has expressed immense pride in her son’s extraordinary talent and hopes he will make a significant impact in the art world.

Ace-Liam achieved this remarkable distinction at just one year and 152 days old.

Chantelle Kuukua Eghan, Ace-Liam’s mother and an artist with eight years of experience, first noticed his gift when he was only six months old.

She recounted her overwhelming joy upon receiving the confirmation email from GWR, after a five-month wait for the record to be ratified.

To qualify for this record, GWR required Ace-Liam to participate in a public, professional exhibition and sell his artwork, ensuring it met professional standards and was created independently.

His work was showcased at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra from December to early January, where he sold nine out of ten pieces, even receiving a commission from the First Lady of Ghana, Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

Ace-Liam, who will turn two in July, has already sold 15 paintings and is preparing for an auction.

His venture into painting began when Ms. Eghan, needing to keep him occupied while working on a commission for Miss Universe 2023, let him play with paint on a canvas.

His first creation was aptly named “The Crawl.”

His art, characterized by vibrant colours and dynamic abstract forms, reflects a sense of discovery and curiosity.

Ms Eghan hopes her son will emulate renowned Ghanaian artist Amaoko Boafo and draw inspiration from international figures like Jackson Pollock and Damian Hirst.

She envisions an international scholarship to further nurture Ace-Liam’s talent and encourages other parents to cultivate their children’s abilities from an early age.

Currently, Ace-Liam has his own studio, designed by his dedicated mother, where he continues to create his masterpieces.
