Turning up for the Golden Globes this year meant more than catching a glimpse of what the stars wore or getting an idea of what the Oscars might have in store.

The awards went down on the 7th of January in Los Angeles.

The Globes honour the best of both film and television and steer clear of recognising excellence in most below-the-line crafts like editing or cinematography.

Globes also disguise between film genres and recognize the best comedies and musicals separately from the best drams.

With “Barbie’ having the most nominations everyone expected them to take the most awards home but that wasn’t the case.

“Oppenheimer” which received eight nominations ended up with five awards, including the Top prize in Drama.

Additionally, Cillian Murphy won Best Actor in a Drama, while Christopher Nolan won Best Director.
