“Please forgive me.” Salim Swaleh desperately begs.

Former news anchor Salim Swaleh has shared a video in which he is asking President Ruto for forgiveness.

In 2023, he was appointed as the Director of Communications in the office of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. 

Before that, he served as the ICT, e-Government, and public communication Chief Officer in Nakuru County. 

In June of this year, Swaleh was arrested over alleged fraud at the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s office. 

The arrests came after a tip-off alerted security, leading to intense surveillance at the Railway office to disrupt reported acts of impersonation and misuse by fraudsters. 

In the recent video, Swaleh appeals to President Ruto for forgiveness, expressing his unsuccessful attempts to reach the President directly or through intermediaries.

“Good morning Your Excellency, I hope this video finds you well,” he started off the video

“I have recorded this because I’ve tried reaching you for the last couple of weeks. I’ve sent several people to talk to you but with no answer. Your excellency you know, you’ve been my father figure for the longest time. We build trust between us and for the last one and a half years, I served you with trust.”

He went on to say that he is sorry for what happened “I am remorseful about it.”

Sawleh said that last one month has been difficult to him and was even unable to walk out “I lost everything in a blink of an eye.”

“Please find it in your heart to please forgive me. “

Swaleh said due to the bad publicity he got, it is almost impossible to get another place to work in.
