Rapper Tory Lanez stabbed 14 times in prison.

Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, better known as Tory Lanez, was reportedly left in critical condition after being stabbed 14 times and rushed to a hospital in California.

The Canadian singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer is fighting for his life following this tragic incident. 

On Tuesday morning, Lanez was attacked by another individual receiving mental health treatment in a housing unit at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.

Prison staff administered first aid before Lanez was transported to a local medical facility for further treatment.

According to an update on his Instagram, Lanez was stabbed in the back, torso, head, and face. Initially placed on a breathing apparatus, he is now able to breathe on his own, the post stated.

“Tory was stabbed 14 times, with seven wounds to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head, and one to the left side of his face. Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. He is now breathing on his own,” the post explained.

“Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, remains in good spirits, and is deeply thankful to God for pulling through,” the post added. 

He also expressed gratitude to everyone who wished him well and for their continued prayers and support.

Tory Lanez was sentenced to ten years in prison on August 8, 2023, after being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.

He was found guilty of first-degree assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle.

As of 2025, he is incarcerated at the California Correctional Institution. Tory Lanez surprise-dropped his fifth studio album, “Daystar,” on September 25, 2020, marking his first full-length release after parting ways with Introscope at the beginning of the year.
