Pastor Lucy Natasha has opened up about the unique challenges of her long-distance marriage and her faith-driven approach to life and family.
Married for three years, Natasha resides in Kenya, where she leads the Empowerment Christian Church, while her husband, Stanley Carmel, whom she met on Instagram, lives in Canada.
Although they make continuous efforts to bridge the physical gap through frequent visits and shared preaching engagements, the couple has not yet decided where they will settle permanently.
“My husband lives in Canada, and I live in Kenya, but we always go back and forth to see each other.
He visits Kenya as often as he can, and sometimes we meet during preaching engagements.
We are just into our third year of marriage and are still trying to determine whether to settle fully in Kenya or Canada,” she explained.
Reflecting on the challenges of long-distance relationships, Natasha believes they can work if both partners are committed and willing to compromise.
“I think long-distance relationships can be successful if both partners communicate effectively and share a commitment to making it work. Compromise is essential because long-distance relationships often involve challenges such as time zone differences and not seeing each other frequently,” she noted.
When asked about starting a family during an April 2024 interview with Oga Obinna, Natasha shared her eagerness to have children but emphasised that she trusts in God’s timing.
“Children are a precious gift from God,” she expressed, adding that she finds joy in seeing her sister, Shifra, embrace motherhood.
“Having children is ultimately in God’s hands. I am hopeful and prayerful that one day we will be blessed with children. I trust in God’s plan and patiently wait for His timing,” she revealed, also sharing her desire to have two children in the future.
