SHEKHINAH IN KENYA

Written by on September 16, 2021

The award-winning global sensation, Shekhinah is set to perform in Nairobi on the 18th of September 2021 at the thrift social. During the previous Thrift social events, the event has been graced by the best of artists including Sho Madjozi, Kamo Mphela among others. The idea is usually simple; dress in theme and come experience the best of art, with food, music and great vibes being a norm. This edition of thrift social promises nothing less, it actually keeps getting bigger and better.

If you’re a music lover, whenever you hear the name Shekhinah, hits like “suited”, “whipped”, “Please Mr ” and “Different” automatically come to mind. The melody queen has also had massive collaborations with world class artists like Mr. Eazy, Black coffee and Damian Marley. The last time the South African RnB singer performed in Kenya was 2017 for coke studio and blankets&wine in the same year. Under her collections, we have seen her work with our very own Bey T, who is set to perform with her at thrift social.

Bey T is a homegrown musical genius who blew up with her debut song Wololo, which propelled her to be a favourite to many Kenyans. She has worked overtime on many projects including; ‘If they dunno”, “the most”,  ‘ndio’ and ‘kalakuta” which are all club bangers. Bey T keeps on shining on her craft, blending different musical aspects to make a masterpiece.

With the wave from South Africa; kwaito, oontz, afro house, amapiano and Gqom shaping a good percentage of Africa airwaves, Shekhinah will be joined by her fellow South Africa star, Moonchild Sanelly. From ‘Yebo mama’ to ‘Yebo teacher’ and her recent project, ‘undumpable’, ‘Moonchild’ is a household name to many. With collaborations with the likes of DJ Maphorisa, Focalistic Ndikuze, Major League, Heavy-K and Kabza De Small, Moonchild is a resident hit maker, performer and director. Her musical journey has seen many call her the Afropop star.

The event will also have a major performance from the queen, Xenia Manasseh. The lady bird with golden voice from Rhumba ya japani by Sauti Sol is set to perform on the same day too. She needs no further information as her hit tracks speak volumes about her, “lowkey” is one of my favorite songs by her. The hitmaker is just unstoppable when it comes to lyrics and creativity.

Rock your best ‘NUDE’ outfit to go in line with this year’s theme and don’t forget to tag along a friend of a friend.
