On a cold night in the heart of Kenya’s most beautiful town, City Lighters Church decided to bring Nairobi to a standstill with the Street Praise Pop-Up concert.
The City Lighters Church decided to usher in the new year in style with a major crossover at the AghaKhan Walk.
The concert was held on the 31st of December and lasted till 1st January at 5 am.
Street Praise Pop-Up kept the audience grooving the whole night to the point no one felt they were out in the cold to usher in the new year.
The event which was proudly organised by CityLighter Church in collaboration with Payless, NRG Radio, Nairobi County and NTV was a concert like no other.
If you were looking to usher in the new year with wise words from God the Street Praise Pop-Up was your destination.
The concert had entertainment from our very own talented gospel musicians like Guardian Angel, Timeless Noel, Daddy Owen, Moji Shortbaba, Ben Cyco, Kriss Eroh, Mash Mwna, and Josh Extra among others.
Hype Ses, Hype Jons, Hype Danaby, Hype Gibbz, MC Catedope and Miss Gee hosted the concert.
Other forms of entertainment were from the amazing gospel DJ Mzito, DJ Krowbar, DJ Cartoon and DJ Moreeh.
Additionally, there were dancers from the wekadance chemistry group and Alic dance ministry.
Gates opened as early as 5 pm but by as early as 8 pm the venue was already full those who came late had to start their concert outside the gates.
When the clock hit midnight all attendees ushered in the new year with a word of prayer from the lead pastor George Macharia.
In true Kenyan spirit, they also had to have fireworks for some background effects and to show the waiting Kenyas that the men of God also liked having a bit of fun.
Below are some of the photos from the event.
