Kenya’s first female Somalian comedian Nasra Yusuf, has come out and declared that she will be running for a political seat come the next elections.
In a joint media interview last week on Friday, the comedian expressed her sorrows and hurt for the current Finance Bill.
According to the comedian, the government was being unjust and oblivious to the cries of its citizens.
She went on to say that North Eastern MPs let the nation down as most of them voted to support the bill when it was presented in parliament.
“Watu wa North Eastern wametuangusha, ukiskia these are the MPs that betrayed us North Eastern are the majority of those MPs, only two MPs from North Eastern voted no. “
The comedian hinted that she might be interested in vying for a political seat come the next election.
“Wachunge I am coming for them, I am coming for your positions wait and see, I am coming for those positions hamuwezi kuwa munatuchezea hapa.”
Nasra added that most politicians forget their roles and all those who voted for them and care about their personal goals.
“ Hamuezi kuwa munapigishia watu kura hiko nyumbani you come back to Nairobi munajenga maappartment, mahoteli na sijui nini hizo zingine mnajenga alafu mnakuja hapa mnatuproposia Bill hatuelewi. “
The comedian finished by adding that she was of the GEN Z age bracket and lightly made fun of musician Bahati who had jinxed himself and failed to reach the ballot papers last elections.
“ Staki kufanyikiwa kitu ilifanyikia Bahati. I officially identify as a Gen Z myself.”
Attempts to get her to say the political seat she would be vying for bore no fruits as the Somali comedian simply ignored the questions and walked out of the interview.
