Willy Paul, a former gospel artist who transitioned into secular music, recently shared insights into his relationship with God following this career shift.
Despite moving away from gospel music, Willy Paul emphasized that he continues to uphold fundamental Christian principles and remains committed to his faith.
In a statement made after his performance at Boom Fest last weekend, Willy Paul expressed that he still maintains a spiritual connection with God.
He mentioned that he continues to pray before going on stage to perform, similar to his practice during his gospel music career.
Willy Paul clarified that the primary change in his relationship with God was his decision to transition from gospel to secular music.
Despite the change in the musical genre, he affirmed that his Christian beliefs remain unwavering.
He mentioned that the only thing that changed in his relationship with God was that he stopped singing gospel music, but he remains firm in his Christian beliefs.
“Before I step onto the stage, we pray, we have prayed even here. The only thing that changed about Willy Paul and God or what people call ministry is the type of music I do, but my relationship with God is still strong, I know how I communicate with Him,” he said.
Giving a hint about his love life, Willy Paul said, “Women, well! I really love them, but I also fear them a lot!”
The artist, who has recently faced a lot of mixed opinions online over something he did at his show, said that his shield is to ignore all those who speak ill and slander him, while also knowing that he lives his reality.
