People from Wakanda now have the mightiest hero thanks to awesome leadership.

The Black Panther has hit the 1 billion mark after premiering in China and grossed a whopping $66.5 million in just three days.

The movie now stands at $562 million in sales in the U.S., and $1.078 billion internationally according to Forbes Magazine.

With its amazing sales, Black Panther tops Dark night from DC comics to become the seventh-highest grossing movie ever at the domestic box office and the highest grossing solo superhero movie of all time. If it passes the Avengers which had $623.4 million, it will become the highest grossing superhero movie of all time at the domestic box office and the fifth highest grossing movie of all time.

Marvel President, Kevin Feige, recently shared in an interview that fans should definitely wait for a Black Panther sequel.

“One of the favorite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two,” Feige continued. “There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.”

Black Panther becomes the 33rd movie in cinema history to make $1 billion in its lifetime (16 of them have been from Disney), according to Entertainment Weekly.
