Barely 5 months after extending his contract with Paris saint-Germain, Mbappe is looking to leave the Ligue 1 giants, sources now confirm.

Speaking back in May, Mbappe expressed how delighted he was to have extended his contract for a further 3 years ending in 2025.

“I would like to announce that I have chosen to extend my contract at Paris Saint-Germain, and of course I am delighted. I am convinced that here I can continue to grow at a club that provides everything necessary to perform at the highest level.” Mbappe announced.

The PSG Management headed by President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi was also thrilled by the extension, echoing it as an amazing milestone in the history of the Club.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Mbappe now wants to leave in January with Real Madrid top of his preference list, according to ESPN.

Unkept promises, little freedom and a crumbling relationship with teammate Neymar are some of the reasons responsible for Mbappe’s change of heart.

Mbappe’s time at PSG has so far been nothing short of incredible. He joined the team in 2017 from AS Monaco and has been the League’s top scorer in the last 4 consecutive seasons. He has also been crowned Ligue 1 Player of the Year thrice.

Mbappe Achievements

At 23, Mbappe has honours that other senior, more experienced players will likely never achieve in the span of their careers.

As of 2022, he is PSG’s 2nd all-time goal scorer. Only Edison Cavani has more goals than the French superstar.

Mbappe was also part of the 2018 World Cup squad that won for France. He won the FIFA World Cup Best Young Player award. He also found his way into the history books being the second teenager, after the legendary Pelé to find the back of the net in a world cup final.
