Tusker Oktoba Fest; An Entire Weekend’s Highlight
Written by kingbeestar on October 8, 2019
The just concluded Tusker Oktoba Fest was the highlight of Nairobi this past weekend. The two-day beer-themed mega event aims at bringing together young,outgoing,fun-loving Nairobi residents for on a sipping spree, all while they warm up to each other and get social.
Ngong Racecourse is one heck of a strategic location for a gig that is bound to have people come out in huge numbers. Saturday and Sunday were no exception, save for the major snarl-up on Ngong Road that took centrestage for almost the entire afternoon as people made their way into Racecourse. In no time,it was a bona fide full-house,all packed to the brim with all the Tusker brands,an array of delicious treats as accompaniments…and the incredibly good music to boot!
The performances were not too shabby either. From Ethic and Sailors having everyone chant all their now household lyrics,to The Kansoul bringing the entire house (read grounds) down,it was just about a fun affair Saturday. Not to mention Sauti Sol’s closing performance that had everyone on their feet. Sunday saw yet another string of epic performances from the likes of Khaligraph and Nadia Mukami. Then came an unprecedented performance by Kikuyu crooner Samidoh that was inarguably the most talked about that night.
As you’d have already predicted,NRG Radio was one of the forces behind Oktobafest. We are the number one radio station in Nairobi. Needless to say, whatever we touch, turns to gold.
