Diamond Gives back to community after fans backlash.

Written by on December 5, 2023

Over the weekend Tanzanian musician and Wasafi Records CEO, Diamond Platinumz gave out free caps to his fans.

This happens just a day after the musician was angered by a fan who stole his favourite green cap.

Diamond ordered his bodyguards to look and retrieve the cap claiming he wanted to wear the cap with the planned outfits he had carried for the event.

He complained by stating that the cap needed to be found immediately.

“Hiyo kofia ni lazima ipatikane kwa sababu ina nguo nyingi, yaani nguo zangu zote napanga kuvaa zinavaliwa na kofia hiyo. Sasa nitavaa aje “

(That cap has to be found because it matches all the outfits that I plan to wear during this tour. Without it, what will I wear?)

Fans were left with mixed reactions as to why the singer insisted on having the headwear back as he has enough money to buy another and more.

Diamond being the sweetheart he is, explained the reasons as to why he got anxious after his cap was stolen and demanded the cap to be returned.

During the Wasafi festival that took place in Dodoma, Simba explained his reasons as to why he needed the cap back.

But also proved why he was the fan’s favourite and the GOAT in Bongo music.

He stated:
“Unajua ni vizuri mtu akipenda kitu akuombe umpe, yaani ukichukua kitu changu waniona mimi boya mimi ni fala

Mtu anapochukua kitu bila idhini na ridhaa yako anakuona wewe boya ndio maanake.”

(If you have seen something that you like tell me, and I’ll give it to you, don’t take it by force. If you are taking it by force, it means you think I’m stupid and I’m not.)

The stolen cap was a Mitchell and Ness-fitted Boston Celtics cap.

Even after giving out caps, fans were still left with unanswered questions as to why he couldn’t let it go.
