Kennar finally addresses fallout with former crewmates.

Kenyan content creator Crazy Kennar has explained why he stopped working with his former comedy crew, which produced ‘Tales of Crazy Kennar.’

The crew consisted of six members: Yvonne Khisa, Stanley Omondi, Useful Idioty, Shiro, and Bushra.

Kennar’s online content, which is filled with humour and intelligence, sets him apart as one of the top content creators in Kenya today.

The group began collaborating back in 2017 while they were in college, creating short skits. With the support of friends and the early growth of content on Instagram, they quickly gained popularity.

In 2023, Kennar made headlines when rumours surfaced about a falling out with his castmates. Netizens noticed that the cast members had stopped following each other on social media and were no longer creating content together.

During a recent interview with YouTuber Oga Obinna, Kennar explained the circumstances that led to the crew’s split, despite their previous successes.

He recalled their growth together and emphasised that he chose crew members based on their commitment to excellence, without discrimination.

“We have come a long way since we started. I would bring people on board who weren’t necessarily artists, and I appreciate the moments we shared together, which were more about learning than just working.”

As the crew gained widespread recognition, Kennar, as their leader and scriptwriter, sought to introduce new ideas to facilitate their growth. He aimed to teach his crew the necessary skills for producing content.

“As we grew, our goals began to shift. Each of us had different ambitions for our futures, and as things progressed, compatibility started to fade.”

He recalled a meeting where they discussed how to support one another’s progress. He suggested that instead of solely focusing on performance, they should also master specific skills related to content production.

“I even started classes to teach them how to use shooting equipment. When you have a team, you want the best for everyone.”

However, differing goals ultimately became an obstacle to their collaboration, leading to disagreements and, eventually, a split.

“The problem arose when our ambitions diverged. The agenda I was advocating did not resonate with everyone, which led us to a stalemate and an unfortunate end to our partnership.”

Despite the split, Kennar remains motivated by the success of his former team members, seeing their achievements as a positive outcome.

“What I take pride in is that we all started as amateurs, and now we have numerous influencers. Whether our journey ended positively or negatively, everyone has found the direction they wanted.”
