During a concert on Saturday night, Diamond Platnumz introduced a lady whom he claimed was the inspiration behind his song ‘Nenda Kamwambie,’ which he released about 15 years ago.

On stage, Diamond recounted how he wrote the song after seeing this lady in the audience among his many fans who had come to witness his performance.

Diamond asked his assistants to bring the lady onto the stage before embracing her and starting to sing the song.

Diamond began to narrate;

“Hii nyimbo ni kuhusu maisha yangu, nilikuwa najaribu kuimba kuimba lakini bado, kumbe kulikuwa na kiwango sikuwa nimefikia kulikwa na maumivu ilikuwa lazma niyapate.”

(This song, I sang about my real life. You know, I was trying to sing, but every time I tried, the songs would be bad, I couldn’t get it right. I realized there was still a level I hadn’t reached, there was pain that I had to experience,)

Kisha kuna dada nampendaga sana na leo nimemuona yumo humu ndani huyo dada anaitwa Sarah.

(And there’s this sister I love so much, and today I saw her here. This sister is called Sarah, she’s the reason I sang this song ‘Kamwambie.’ At that time, she was just a young girl,) Diamond added.

“Huyu ndio sababu ya mimi kuimba huu wimbo ( Kamwambie song) wakati huo alikuwa mdogo mdogo. Huyu ndio Sara miaka kumi na tano iliyopita nilikuwa nampenda sana kipindi hicho  kibichi wajua. Nikimuona niliona Beyonce wajua alinichanganya ndio nikaenda kuandika huu wimbo.”

(This is Sarah, 15 years ago, I sang this song for her, you know, at that raw time. Whenever I saw her, I saw Beyoncé, I got confused. She teased me about incidents, so I went to write this song, and what I sang in this song, I wrote it because of her,)

Diamond said, confirming that they later met, sorted things out, and became friends.
