Pep Guardiola’s warning highlights the intense competition at the top of the Premier League table. With Arsenal’s recent form posing a threat, Guardiola knows that any slip-up from Manchester City could be costly in their pursuit of a fourth consecutive title.

After Arsenal’s win against Tottenham, Guardiola expects Arsenal to maintain their form, It’s clear that he’s emphasizing the importance of consistency and maintaining their winning streak to stay ahead in the race.

Guardiola’s Warning

“We prefer they lose, we cannot control what they do,” Guardiola said of Arsenal, per the Guardian. “There are four games left, I don’t think they are going to lose any points, so we know exactly what we have to do.”

City’s victory over Nottingham Forest must have been a relief for Guardiola and the team, especially following Arsenal’s recent success. Scoring goals from Josko Gvardiol and Erling Haaland shows City’s attacking prowess even against a disciplined defensive setup.

Guardiola’s Assessment

“It was a less-than-vintage City performance in Nottingham,” Guardiola admitted. “We knew the circumstances when we arrived here, so we knew how the game would happen.

We were so lucky that the pitch was so dry and, because with the chances they had, on better pitch conditions they would have scored, we were incredibly fortunate for that.”

City’s win against Forest marked their fifth consecutive victory in the Premier League, putting them in a strong position in the title race.

However, Guardiola might have to cope without his first-choice goalkeeper, Ederson, for the remaining fixtures after he sustained a shoulder injury.

Ederson’s Injury

“It doesn’t look good,” Guardiola said. “We will see tomorrow with the doctor.”

City’s upcoming fixtures include home games against Wolves and West Ham, with trips to Fulham and Tottenham in between. Meanwhile, Arsenal faces Bournemouth, Manchester United, and Everton, setting up an intense race for the Premier League title.
